Welcome New Advisory Committee Members
In September NEST approved two additions to the Advisory Committee. The Committee is made up of individuals who are committed to getting the word out about prevention education curriculum that teach youth about human trafficking and how to avoid the traps of traffickers. The Committee is comprised of current curriculum providers, representatives from the school/education system, a NEST funder, and the coordinator. With this mix NEST believes we have created a well rounded slate of experts that effectively review the curriculum presented to us for inclusion on the curriculum and additional resources charts. “We are looking for quality curriculum and resources that are backed up by facts and that present a common sense approach to educating America’s youth about the issues that surround human trafficking for their age groups.
NEST is proud to announce our newest Advisory Committee Members Cindy Bankston – Schools Department Manager for Northwest Family Services in Portland, OR, an award-winning non-profit organization that, for over thirty years, has equipped people with vital skills for a lifetime in support of family stability and child well-being.
Anthony “Tony” Talbott is Lecturer, Political Science and Human Rights Studies at University of Dayton. He serves on the Ohio Attorney General’s Human Trafficking Commission and works closely with various other anti-human trafficking agencies around the state. He speaks regularly on issues dealing with human trafficking throughout Ohio and the Midwest. Both Cindy and Tony bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to NEST. We hope you’ll join us in welcoming them to this important program.
